Hizen region situated in the middle of 2 prefectures Saga and Nagasaki, is rich in natural resources for the ceramics industry, and developped unique styles to establish the 3 Arita ware styles "Ko-imari (old Imari)" "Kakiemon" and "Iro-Nabeshima".
As trading business with overseas developped, the gorgeous-flamboyant "Kinrande "style appeared.
Each style was passed down to Arita ware over the different era and business domain through the history.
Since the foundation in 1804 by Yazaemon Matsumoto the 1st by opening a kiln in Kamikohira Hizen Arita Sarayama,
our tradition of Ko-imari style has been passed down through 7 generations over 200 years.
Tradition has been passed down by challenging to innovation till today.
Ko-imari style ornaments, such as flower vases and decorative plates were mainly produced at the beginning.
After the factory rennovation in 1964, large variety of japanese and western style tableware became possible to produce in addition to ornaments.
New factory was built in 1994 to largely produce modern style tableware products and ornaments, taking advantage of Ko-imari technology. Our craftsmen skills enable to produce small products such as chopstick rest, to large plate over 132 cm, from small to enormous quantities, to meet our customers' orders.

It is one of Arita’s oldest and largest-scale operating kilns.
