What is Ise-type paper?
A pattern paper for dyeing that is produced in the land of Ise (present Mizu Suzuka city). There is a long history, also known as a pattern used for Edo komon. During the Edo period the Kishu clan protected it as a special product. Since it spread throughout the country by the hand of a type merchant (Ise merchant) who received permission of sale from the clan, it came to be called Ise pattern.

◇ Fukusaka ◇
It is a design which made sparrows from winter to spring design, and there is a saying that calls for spring = calling for happiness.
Bamboo is used for parrying "with good spirit" with sparrows. The design like a spider's web is often used in kimono patterns, and it means an amulet to drive away demons.
It is an auspicious dish to celebrate the coming of spring.

Fukuzaka also writes "Fukuza sparrow". Characters are also very lucky characters.
