Lion Dogs in Arita porcelain

Product Development and OEM

Thanks to our reputation of making large vases and water tobacco decoration, we were asked by the contemporary artist Miwa Komatsu to create her Guardian Lion Dogs in porcelain, to be part of "The Edo Garden" by the scenery artist Kazuyuki Ishihara for UK Chelsea Flower Show in 2015.
"The Edo Garden" won the Gold Medal at this most prestigious gardening show in the world.

Collaboration work of Japanese traditional crafts Arita and the value of “Guardian Lion Dogs” as cultural property, was highly evaluated as a work of art by the curator Ms. Nicole Rousmaniere, and was elected to be eternally stored at the British Museum.

The display caption says:

The playful Lion dog(koma inu)are a collaboration between the artist Komatsu Miwa who designed and painted them and Matsumoto Satoru who formed and fired them.He is the seventh generation to head the Yazaemon Kiln,Arita.

And Yazaemon the 7th has the honor to have his name Satoru Matsumoto engraved forever on the collaboration art work.
